Social Services Worker 2 – Ongoing Unit

Provides case counseling and case management to clients and their families. Maintains working knowledge of community resources and makes immediate referrals for services as applicable. Prepares case plans and provides supportive services to assist families in meeting case plan objectives. Prepares and files summaries for motions and testifies in court. Provides placement services for children (i.e., prepares child for placement, gather documentation for placement options/alternatives, etc.). Serves as an on-call social service worker (i.e. weekends, holidays, after business hours) to assist in emergency situations. Specific responsibilities will be reviewed at interview.

 Must have a bachelor’s degree in human services-related studies OR a bachelor’s degree in a related field and have been employed for at least two years in a human services occupation and any combination of education, training, and experience which evidences and advanced knowledge, principles and methodology of social work. Must have a valid driver’s license, ability to operate a motor vehicle. Background check required.

 $22.29 per hour, additional compensation for afterhours / on-call duties. Unit Support Worker 2 – Workforce Development

Assists, interviews, and screens incoming Agency clients and performs general front desk clerical duties (e.g., document scanning; files; obtains records; schedules appointments; issues letters) and provides technical assistance to Client Services Workers in completing case work. Could determine eligibility for emergency assistance and self-sufficiency assistance programs (e.g., Prevention, Retention and Contingency services [PRC], which includes interviewing applicants, collecting necessary program verifications, documenting client needs, discussing service alternatives, assisting in the location of goods and services, making contacts with service providers, and initiating referrals as assigned. Assists client by taking incoming, telephone requests and making referrals to appropriate services and personnel. Other duties as assigned by the Director.

Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition and subtraction, and reading and writing common English vocabulary, one course or six months experience in typing, keyboarding or word processing, and a valid driver’s license. Also requires an additional twelve months experience in typing, keyboarding or word processing and working in an office environment handling in-person and/or telephone contacts with clients, customers and/or general public; OR education, training and/or experience in an amount equal to the minimum qualifications listed.

Residential Counselor

Make a difference for at-risk youth!

Michael’s Resource and Treatment Center is looking for compassionate individuals to work 2nd shift with at-risk adolescent boys. Residential Counselors provide direct care to the youth we serve as well as implement evidence-based programming to promote behavior modification over time.

Michael’s Resource and Treatment Center is a division of Darke County Job and Family Services. MRTC is a trauma informed residential facility for males between the ages of 10-17 who are referred due to disruptive and delinquent behaviors. MRTC provides youth and their families individualized treatment to assist in stabilization as well as addressing underlying causes of high-risk behaviors.

A High School Diploma is required and applicants must be 21 years of age. A degree in social work, psychology, sociology, or a related field preferred. Alternatively, a combination of education, training, and experience is desired. Individuals will need to successfully pass a background check and drug screen.
