Social Services Worker 2 – Investigative Unit – Children Services

Assess and investigates reports of child abuse, neglect, or dependency as required by state law; establishes services plan/objectives; provides in-depth analysis to eliminate or improve potentially hazardous circumstances; evaluates circumstances to meet current needs of families; assists in emergency situations in office; collaborates with law enforcement and other agencies and/or providers to ensure child safety and promotes wellbeing. Serves as an on-call social service worker (i.e. weekends, holidays, after business hours) to assist in emergency situations. Prepares and files summaries for motions and testifies in court. Specific responsibilities will be reviewed at interview.

Must have a bachelor’s degree in human services-related studies OR a bachelor’s degree in a related field and have been employed for at least two years in a human services occupation and any combination of education, training, and experience which evidences and advanced knowledge, principles and methodology of social work. Must have a valid driver’s license, ability to operate a motor vehicle. Background check required.
